April 14  It takes 3,000 cows to supply a single season’s worth of footballs for the National Football League.

Hello board members. Wednesday night some of you expressed interest in contributing to the final report. Please feel free to do so in any way you see necessary. Anything from a few key points to entire paragraphs will be helpful. You may also add to or revise anything that I have posted. Feb 14 - Hey Guys I'm not going to be able to make it to the meeting tomorrow I have an exam at 6:00 and I really need the time to get some last minute studying in, sorry, I will see you on Weds - N8

Feb 15- Hey guys, sorry about the late notice but I will not be able to make the meeting since I am still working on a test due tonight. I did however, create a google docs folder for our board. It is going to allow us to edit and make changes seperately and then bring them together in one place. The link is below. *PLEASE KEEP THIS LINK* Only those with this link will be able to access the documents and make changes. Email me with any questions (dmclark2@mail.usf.edu). Thanks! See you Wednesday. Danielle

Feb. 13 - Hi all. Hopefully everyone has read the final draft of the problem statement. I would love to hear comments and/or concerns! -Kelsey

Feb 17th - Hi Kelsey, excellent work on the first draft of the Nofo.  I am wondering whether under "definition of key terms" we should try coming up with a working definition for "underserved communites" and "chronic poverty" Doing some research on it now.

Any other terms that are prominent in the Nofo that could use definition? Anyone can chime in.  -Jenn

Feb. 24 - Hopefully all members of the board recieved my e-mail or read the most recent update. If not, please post your ideas for the evaluation rubric on the wiki ASAP. Thanks! -Kelsey

Feb 28. I just want to say thanks to all the people who pulled this together at the last minute! Unfortunately I was not able to make it to a computer for the majority of the weekend, but Kori and a couple others really pulled through!! Hooray! -Kels

Mar 2nd I just looked through the public NOFO - it looks fantastic! I am very disappointed that I was not able to work on the final draft as much as I wanted to - still having profound hardware/connectivity issues at home. :( --Jennifer

Draft of NOFO for further revision Hey, guys, since I think we are all supposed to keep adding our suggestions for NOFO until the board can meet and decide what to do with it, I thought it would be convenient for everyone if I made a Wiki page where we could all add our comments. If that's cool with everyone, please add your own comments in a color other than black so that the board can see any suggestions you'd like to make with the draft. :) -- Heather 2/18

LLS FEEDBACK:

2/26/10 Here is the committee's precise recommendation: Everyone, no cloning. work together on the hyperlink below ("make sections...consistent"). Kori will scrape this page into a .doc file and send tonight:

***Make sections I (problem statement), II (Funding) II.F.iii, and V consistentby including all language from each section, in each section. In other words, we can keep it all if we weave it all throughout. Hurray!

***When we do this, section II.F.iii needs to say "program will address 2 or more of the following" and then list all... BUT take out the and/or in front of "environment" and take out the and/or between environmental and "economic progress" in II.Funding and just keep it all as a list of "or"s.

****Yes, this means we can keep environment in. But we MUST define it by taking the good definitions from the wiki and putting them into the NOFO

*****define all terms. i.e. bring them from the wiki into the document.

Who can meet on campus today? Even if you can't please weigh in with a vote of confidence that some combination of your peers can integrate this feedback, which essentially concedes to a good piece of our first NOFO and all of the second version, if we can create the consistency outlined above.

4:00 UPDATE:

SECTIONS IN RED ARE LOOKING PRETTY GOOD, COPY EDITING IS OF COURSE ALWAYS WELCOME

THE RUBRIC NEEDS ATTENTION. WE NEED TO MESH THE RUBRIC WITH THE PROBLEM AND FUNDING STATEMENTS.

FINALLY, WE SHOULD PROVIDE POLISHED DEFINITIONS OF ALL OF THE KEY TERMS WE HAVE BEEN WORKING ON.

Kori: final scrape and send.

At two (2) of our classes, I requested to be added to the ROSTER for the purpose of notification/easy access to my pages. There is already a "Joe's page," so I m requsting "Joe Rubin" page. Is this a task for the Administator? Please advise. Thanks..w4cbj@arrl.net

Joe, it is all about creating a link of your page to the roster. It is very easy to do and I could show you how to do so in class on weds.

Joe, you now have a page on the roster. It contains a link to your page about affordable housing.

I apologize for being a little late with my proposal. Yesterday was my birthday and my boys had more planned for me than I expected. It was a really nice day!

I really enjoyed Kori's statement especially the quote and definition of community. Kelsey's overall statement, in my opinion, is exactly what needs to be said.

Jason, I'm not sure I understand your last post. It seems very compressed--poetic, in a sense, but strangely situated in our ecology, as it follows up on a thread that has been dormant for over 10 days. Could you unpack your sentiments for us?
